MISSIONARIES

Sub-Saharan African Peoples - Many people in East Africa live a subsistence lifestyle. Those who live in rural areas are farmers and keepers of livestock, while those who live in urban areas are day laborers. Rural dwellers have some advantage over urban dwellers in that they generally own their house, and a plot of land and agricultural-type work never ceases. Regardless of where they live, however, it is still a subsistence lifestyle for the majority. Church pastors are no different, and neither are church members. A pastor has the added responsibility of shepherding the church, which sometimes competes with his need to care for his family–or vice versa. Pray for the many pastors living and serving all across East Africa as they try to balance these responsibilities every day. God is faithful; pray that He will continue providing ways to meet the needs of His people. Ask Him to help church members remember that Jesus said that “the laborer is worthy of his wages” (Luke 10:7 NKJV) and, thus, obey His Word by taking care of their pastor.

-Gene & Shay M, Guiding Light Church, Groveport, OH. Pray that we will continue to seek the will of God and guide others to the Light that brings life. Pray that we continue to engage in the community and build relationships as we push forward to our launch.
